Allan: Thank you for your comments. The wings I'll lend to Linda just to find out what in the world she's up to.
With regard to your question regarding the difference between American and European portraiture, you may want to take a look at a thread started by the British portrait artist Aldo Balding: http://forum.portraitartist.com/showthread.php?t=3501 It almost started another Revolutionary war. |

I see what you mean. There is a lot of good information and some misunderstanding. I believe that everyone must deal with his own situation, since we have to do with personal involvement with different clients. I keep coming back to look at this - amazing richness with such subtle use of color - Wonderful.

Scott, do you think you could post a detail of his face and hand? The form has a grace and beauty that I would love to see close up.

Thank you Jane, Cynthia and Jean. Jean, I've posted details of the face and hand.
I posted the house to show how the weave of the linen could be used to simulate roof tiles--someone should give that place a coat of paint. |
Thanks for posting the extreme close-ups, Scott. Even upon the closest scrutiny, your painting looks great.

Thank you Scott.
Now I have to go check out your website again. In spite of the seemingly lack of color, you have an astounding variation of hue and intensity. Inspiring! Jean |
What a marvellous painting in every aspect. Would you mind revealing the colours on your palette?
