Wow

Beth,

This is exceptional! I think it's my favorite work of yours yet! I don't know if it's the recent workshop, or just you finding your "groove" but this piece excels in many ways - great values, great color tones that support his upbeat demeanor, the last but not least, accuracy of the features. I hope you're very happy with it!

Elizabeth,

This is really wonderful! I think this portrait constitutes a real "break-through". It's your best work yet. You've integrated the entire work well. Great background, too.

Wonderful, Beth. The pose and background seem to really fit the subject. He looks like someone who would think this was "totally awesome, dude!"

Nice to see the finished painting. I like the expression, and you've captured Ben really well.

Patrick Gillooly 06-04-2003 06:08 PM

Excellent work Beth!

You've captured both the "attitude" of the subject, and the sparkle in the eye.

More power to your elbow!

Like "Jinny" I had a chance to reshoot this canvas, so hopefully the images are better.

Thank you all for the kind words, I like this one too!

Marta... great minds think a ike! And it is what Mike McCarty once told me, of course when I was referencing his harem of beautiful women,

Quote:

...if you can't paint beautifully at least you can paint beautiful people, then put them in beautiful frames.
