A future model

I have refrained from posting this news as we are all always becoming moms, dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. However I cannot resist sharing in my good news. My first grandchild was born Nov. 10, ten weeks premature at 3lb 2oz. After almost losing her she is our precious miracle and already filling me with wonder and inspiration. The NICU docs told us yesterday my son and his wife may be taking her home by Christmas!!

So, to introduce my future portrait model and first grandchild, Taylor Grace!!

Congratulations Patricia! I hope she grows strong and healthy.

Warmest congragulations Patricia! Is she getting a set of drawing pencils from grandma this year?

David Draime 12-10-2004 11:53 AM

Congratulations Patricia. The best Christmas present for your family.

Congratulations Pat!!!

My daughter was also 3lbs 2oz, now she's six and the greatest thing ever. Preemies need extra loving care and attention which I'm sure she'll get. :sunnysmil

Dear Grandma ;) ,

Thanks for sharing this! My own former preemie now towers over me and regularly beats me at arm wrestling. No doubt this will happen to you soon as well. Congratulations!

Josef Sy 12-13-2004 11:58 AM

Congratulations Grandma Pat.

Terri Ficenec 12-13-2004 12:14 PM

Oh Pat, Congratulations! She's precious.

Patricia Joyce 12-13-2004 12:15 PM

Your warm wishes are appreciated, Friends!

It is especially heartening to hear that you both have strong children who started out in life so small and delicate, Jimmie and Linda. One thing I can say, Taylor, is definately a little fighter!!!

Yes, she makes my Christmas complete!!!

Pat now I see where that wonderful smile in your avatar comes from! I am so happy for all of you - as all said, such a blessing!

To also add to Jimmie and Linda, my preemie twin nieces tower over me too! But then most people do. :)

Marvin Mattelson 12-13-2004 11:16 PM

The most blessed of children have been awarded doting Grandmas to paint their pictures. Congratulations to you both!

Patricia Joyce 12-14-2004 10:48 AM

Thanks Elizabeth and Marvin! I figure by the time Taylor is old enough to be formally painted (what do "they" say - six months?) I may have enough knowledge to attempt a half decent portrait - by oh baby, by the time she is two or three - LOOK OUT!!!

Kimberly Dow 12-14-2004 11:18 AM

I was a 4 lb preemie also - and I am hardly frail! Just thought I'd throw that in there. :o

Beautiful baby! Merry Christmas!
