Carol Norton - Artist of the Year, Scottsdale League

Our own Carol Norton was voted Artist of the Year for the Scottsdale Artists League with her painting "Guardian of the Herd'!
Congrats Carol!

Memorable Moment!

:D Thank you Debra, it truly was a thrill to have my portrait (with a figurative twist) recognized among so many "fine" fine artists!

Chris Saper 12-03-2008 09:02 PM

Carol,

This is really an honor and a recognition of not only this painting, but of your body of work. It is so well deserved! I have so much enjoyed seeing the amazing, rapid and SOLID progress of your career.

Paint on, paint on.

Alexandra Tyng 12-03-2008 11:25 PM

Wow, Carol--congratulations! Can you post the painting here, or a link to it?

Claudemir Bonfim 12-04-2008 06:09 AM

Congrats, that's well deserved.

'Artist of the Year' Painting

Thank you all - Chris, with whom I have studied and pestered with questions since 2003 and whose teaching skills are as superb as her paintings, and Alexandra and Claudemir - whose work I respect and admire.

The painting that won the Scottsdale Artists' League Artist of the Year award is on the home page of my website: www.cenorton.com and is called "Guardian of the Herd".

Alexandra Tyng 12-04-2008 11:11 AM

Thanks, Carol! Your whole website looks great, too. Why don't you post that self-portrait here on SOG?

Thanks! My avatar is the home page self-portrait. It's pretty impressionistic, unlike prior efforts, and I'll give it a try.

Than you, Patty. It was a lovely moment that I will remember.

Carol, this is fantastic news! Your career has really taken off, and deservedly so. Your paintings pulse with vibrancy and life. I am so proud to know you and I'm very happy to hear about these accolades.

Thanks so much, Linda. I am thrilled, needless to say. Hope your two-gallery openings went well last week and that Santas bought everything. :santa:
