Hello from Maitland, FL

Hello, my name is Mark Stefanowicz and I am new to this site. I have been watching it for the past two years. I am very impressed with the talent and energy here.

I guess I should start off with a little background on myself. I am 29 years old and married. I went to a private art school for 17 years and learned watercolor, pastel, oils, and sculpture. It was a very structured school. My teacher was Vincent Tringarli. He was a portrait artist in the Boston area. He also taught at a lot of colleges and was a Dean in one of them. So my parents enrolled me in that private school (after my regular school hours, of course, 3 times a week from 3-6 pm) at the age of six. I wanted to draw GI Joe

Mark,

Welcome, from Winter Garden, Fl. I loved the work you posted. I too was trained privately and loved my childhood mentor. I'll look forward to your presence here.

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the Forum. I am envious of your upbringing! I just visited your website and find your work very beautiful. Your one hour studies are amazing to me.

I look forward to watching your portraits develop here.

All the best,
Pat

Thanks ReNae and Pat.

People seem really nice here. I definitely need the reassurance of letting me know I am doing the right thing switching to portraiture. It will be a while before I post any paintings(a month or 2) but I am looking forward to having conversations with y'all about new paintings, techniques, etc..

Mark,

Amazing work. I visited your site and your work shows very good line control!

I am also interested in portraits especially in oils and would like to pursue in that area more and more. Your work is so much inspiring! Thanks. I will be posting my recent work in a couple of days. This is my first ever post on this site!

Very anxious to participate more with our group members.
Thanks for your work!

Good Luck.
Meera Bakshi

Mark,

Will you be showing any work at "The Fringe" this year? Hope to see you there.

Welcome aboard Mark,

Wonderful. I just love the techniques you use on your 2D works and look forward to the 3D modeling images you will post on your site.

Hey thanks everyone. I have been extremely busy these past two months. I have had some crazy deadlines at work. I will be doing some major painting this summer. So I am hoping to post soon. Once again thanks for the warm welcome.
