From one empty-nester to another! It is a wonderful time in our lives, when our boys (I have two sons also, 26 and 22) are getting established and we find we have time to finally pursue our passions. Now, unlike you, I do not have a husband, nor do I ever hope to find a man as generous as yours, you are truly blessed!!!

I look forward to seeing more of your work. The two paintings you have posted are great.

Now, I must run off. I think I will call my boyfriend and maybe....
....if I am really nice to him...

I'm going to post a new portrait of Mrs. Cairns that was commissioned by Prof. Roger Cairns. That was just completed and handed over on last Monday. Please check in unveiling or critique section.

Welcome to this forum! Your portraits are wonderful! Is this the same Roger Cairns who taught me drawing over 25 years ago? He was one of the most seroius and demanding art instructors I ever had. I am grateful to have studied under him (at Montco Community College, 1978?). I am in Philadelphia too (my extra long intoduction is on the next page, below). I am so glad you are joining us here, and look forward to your contributions.

Hi, Garth! I'm glad to meet you here.

You are kind of an alumni at MCCC and PAFA. I was taking last two semesters of painting class under Prof. Roger Cairns at MCCC. Yes, he is still teaching in drawing and painting. This portrait was requested by Mrs. Cairns(she is also an art education teacher at MCCC.) as a gift for their anniversary and his birthday.
