Two hours green study

Well, I feel a lot better now that I have had one reasonably good result from an open studio in my home. I was beginning to think I was jinxed.
We had 2 1/2 hours or so to work, but I ended up wiping out two 20 minute sessions' worth and painting over it. This is the result. I guess maybe this is closer to 1 1/2 hours work. There's a bit of glare on the picture, but I don't care. Just happy to have done something I don't have to put in the trash can.

If I were you I would feel more than "a little better" with myself. 1-1/2 hours? I'm impressed. I think it is amazing.

Hi Julie,

I agree, the outcome was great. It usually takes me 3 or 4 hours to do an oil sketch.

Hello Julie
I'm a biginner myself and I know how difficult it is to get this kind of result and how frustrating it is when most of your work is destined for the trash, this is an excellent sketch, keep at it.

Well, thanks, you guys. You know the rush when you FINALLY have one you might actually keep? That's why I posted.

Never gainsay the value of working, then correcting! (even to the point of beginning anew) Give yourself credit for the full time, Julie! Nice sketch!

Very nice, Julie.
Keep it!

Well Done Julie, remember that lovely feeling now that you have a keeper to drive you upward and onward. Looking forward to seeing more of your development.
