Self Portrait as Blue-Eyed Blonde in Dragon Chair
2 Attachment(s)
I painted this for a local self-portrait group show. There were paintings by over 150 artists, truly an amazing sight. There was a great turnout. And I was offered a trade by one of my favorite local artists.
I have brown eyes and brown hair. I paint myself so often, I thought I'd change it up and see if I could transform myself into a blue-eyed blonde. I had a lot of fun with this portrait. |
Oh, what fun! It looks like this was a wonderful experience for you especially since you got a trade going as well. Good for you!

Thank you, Enzie.
I'm excited about the trade, too. However, there is a serious lack of portraits in my studio- it would be nice to have this one to show clients. I can always paint another, though. Maybe with my natural coloring this time. |
Very, very beautiful self-p.
Now I'm curious about the dark hair. Hope you'll post the new version here soon. |
Thank you, Claudemir.
I'm curious to see what it will look like, too. At this point, each portrait I paint is MUCH better than the last. It's humbling, but good. Fortunately, I am too busy to start on the new self-portrait. I just had a photo shoot with a new client. I'm really excited about this one! When I started, my prices were *really* low. Often, clients would want a discount or choose the smallest size portrait. Now that I raised my prices (as I'm getting better), it's refreshing to have clients who don't question the price. In fact, this client opted for the largest size portrait I offer! I'm rambling. So happy! Thanks again, Sandra |
