Chinese period in my life
4 Attachment(s)
This year is devoted to Chinese culture in Russia. And I am in China again.
I have made two big pictures in a last visit, (you can find them in my web site) and I am working on a new big picture now. I want to show you a set of portraits which I have made in last time. These are my friends, colleagues and students. These people have a different education and habits, but they have similar characters with us. Have a good time in this small exhibition. Thank you. |
Hi Victoria -
Thanks for sharing these. I especially like the luminous whites, varieties of whites and the quality of light in and around your figures. The loose and freely done brush strokes in the first painting are great. I think my favorite is the young woman looking out the decoratively carved window. That certainly is an intriguing cabinet in your last painting! It's interesting, seeing a cabinet as the first point of interest, with a face as secondary. Although it could be seen as an elaborate frame to the face, |
Victoria,
Breathtaking! |
Victoria,
I love these! My favorites are the first two, because of the expressive brush strokes, transparent shadows, and the way you have caught the individuality of the people in the portraits. Beautiful! |
Dear Victoria,
These are so fresh and lovely! |
Incredible. I especially like the first two.

Victoria, I agree with Sharon. Your work is very nice (my favorite is #2) and it's proper place would be in the "Professional Unveiling" section, where everyone can see them.

Lovely and expressive work, Victoria, thanks for posting these!
