Camera and Monitor Simultaneously

I need a little help from some of you photography guru's please.
Maybe this a basic question, I'm not sure.
How do I take a photo with my camera and have it show up
on my computer screen at the same time? I would like to see a large image and then adjust my camera rather than downloading to a pc to see how it looks in a large format.

Thanks in advance.

If you have a Nikon camera you can buy software program called Camera Control Pro 2. Not only can you view the images (they download directly to your computer) you can change the camera settings and even activate the shutter release all through the computer. The amount of options you control depends on the specific camera model you own.

I'm sure each brand of camera would offer a similar option.

Mine is a Nikon D70 so I am sure it would work.
I will look for it.
Thanks!

Marvin,

I found the software. This is exactly what I am looking for.
I don't think it comes with any cables.
Do I need just a USB cable to go from the camera to my computer?
What would I need to activate the shutter from the computer? That sounds like a great idea.

There's a cable that came with your camera for the purposes of downloading photos. That will work except it's pretty short. You can buy a Male/Female USB extension cable to increase the length. I have one that's about 12 feet.

You can activate the shutter within the interface. Just click either the "focus and shoot" or the "shoot" button.

You should also be able to adjust the f-stop and shutter speed.

Wow, never considered this possibility -- something I will look into for my Canon Rebel. This could come in very handy! Thanks Mike & Marvin! :)

Wow! Makes me glad I bought a Nikon!
