Well, that is good advice for anyone, not to count on anyone else taking care of you. And yes, I understand that women are often single parents and heads of households. My parents were divorced and my wife was a single mother before she married me. Also, I never said that women necessarily want a man to support them, but most would not pick a guy who is looking for a woman to support him. Or one that could not support her, if she wanted to stay home and raise their children. And any man (or at least any with intestinal fortitude) would have a hard time living with without some self-doubt as to his manliness if he let his spouse support him completely.
