Tony Bennett
I saw Tony Bennett on Larry King tonight. It was a nice program with a lot of clips of Tony singing.
Mr. Bennett talked about his painting and that his master and teacher was Raymond Kinstler. They showed many of his paintings, not too shabby I think. Not surprising, they lean toward the impressionistic style.
I've always been fascinated by the similarities between music and art. Larry ask him if what he did was jazz. Tony said that everything he did was jazz. He then defined jazz as "elongated improvisation." That's an interesting definition which I think could apply to painting as well.
