Outdoor portrait - $1,000
I received the following portrait inquiry. I'll post the photo they want done - I have a large scan of it. I can see why they want a painting of it - it's very charming. Of course, this is the kind of source material that we always discourage artists using. If you're interested in this please let me know.
Subjects = 1
Figure = Not sure
Background = Outdoor
Medium = Oil
Budget = $1000
PortraitInfo = I have a photograph of my mom watering flowers. She is in profile in a garden with brick wall and trees, etc. We do not have much experience with the art world, beyond museum gazing... I think the style we're looking for is "realism". After casually exploring the website, we decided that the styles of the following artists were just beautiful! ( Weiss, Paules, Blackstock, William T. Chambers, Banks, Linton, also like the impressionistic work of Beuttell Dayton) However they are completely beyond our means. We were hoping to have something done for mom's 70th birthday Dec. 2006. Perhaps you know of some promising students who are looking to add to their portfolios?

Summer is very slow and my car blew up.
I would love to take it on.
It is a VERY long deadline.
If you could forward my email to her I would be thrilled to discuss it. I have a sick desire to always take on the worst pose and the worst reference.

Is this open to foreigners?
Hi,
It looks like something that would be a challenge for me. Any chance this opportunity is open to Singaporeans?

I'd love to try this. I don't know if I'm suitable. And it probably goes against all the good advice that I've been given in this forum, too!

I'd like to throw my hat in the ring as well! Let me know how to apply for the commission. I have yet to submit my best works on this site, so don't judge this artist by the sketchbook yet.

It would be nice to see the final work from this, if possible.

The client asked that I thank everyone who responded - she's very appreciative. I'll have to check with the artist as to whether she will allow me to post the work when completed. It will be quite some time though.
