Odette, the little filly

Hello, all!

This is a watercolor of my friend's filly. She was so cute looking over the fence, I had to paint her! What do you think?

Filly

Hi Jennifer,

I think you really did a great job on that left eye. And I like the horse off to the left, but the horses on her hindquarters bother me. The fence in front of the filly looks super. I think what I've learned from the Forum is that if this was done from a photo, that the darks all blend together, so you have to work really hard to get middle tones. And I know black is hard because we want to paint it black, when it's really a lot of reflections of the sky and ground, etc.. Hope this helps getting a little different opinion. I'm trying to learn all this too and the Forum really helps.

Tammy
