Framing tags?

Hi and help!

I need to find a source for those little tags you see on some framed pieces. They're usually made of metal and state the name of the painting, the artist, and other info. I have a commission that will need it to match the other portraits in the room, and have no idea how to get one made.

Hi Julie--

You might try a trophy shop (the kind that does award and commemorative plaques and things) . . . or a shop like 'Things Remembered' if they're in the malls near you?

Julie,

Artists' and American Artist magazines usually have monthly classifieds - try this: Allyson's

PS Or ask the framer

Here's another . . .
www.baxtersframeworks.com/plaques

Back in the day, framers added title space on custom-carved frames as a thin-chip wooden plaque which was gold-leafed and hand-lettered . . . you've probably seen them in museums.
