Problems with JFM?
Hi-
I'm getting a heck of a run-around on a frame order from JFM Enterprises in Atlanta. They keep promising that the molding will be on the next truck, but it never is.
I'd be curious to see if others have had this problem.
I think my future policy with them is going to be - if they have a frame in stock, get it, but no custom orders.

Hi Julie--
Yeah, I've had similar problems with long and repeated delays when ordering frames from them -- they've apprarently got issues with some of their suppliers. I've found it's best to call and talk to them (rather than ordering on-line), if possible order an in-stock frame--if not one in stock, ask their recommendation on a frame from one of their more reliable suppliers. . .

Alas for JFM- I dislike "trashing" any supplier, years of dealing with the public makes me sympathetic to vendors . . . but !
I'm unimpressed with their personal "handling" when one calls direct, service on in-stock items is not all that prompt, and custom orders or back orders are really quite impossible in my experience. The frames are quite nice, though.

I like their frames, and if they have what I want in stock, in a ready-made size, then I plan on continuing to ordering from them.
Never had a problem with customer service personnel either.
It's just the custom order thing: I wanted to make sure that I was getting an accurate idea as to whether this was a fluke or a consistent occurence. The most telling response I've had was when I called a framer, explained the problem I was having with a "wholesaler", and he laughed and said "I bet I know who" (he was right).

Julie, do look at abendartgallery. http://www.abendgallery.com/framing.htm
Their frames are beautiful and carefully executed -and reasonable!

Julie, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who has had problems with JFM, although they do carry very nice frames at even nicer prices.
I have received a couple flawed and damaged frames from the few that I've ordered from them. But to their credit, they did replaced a fairly large frame (30x40) that had some damage at no cost, and didn't ask me to ship the damaged one back to them.
But since I've been slightly disappointed with JFM, I've done some searching on the web for other wholesalers, but have had not luck. Chris mentioned Abend(NICE frames, btw), does anyone have other wholesalers that they use?
