Horses

I can't resist the urge to post my painting of "Cinnamon" after seeing the beautiful animals on this site. I love all creatures small and big and I hope you enjoy this one as much as I have enjoyed all your work!

Nice detail Enzie, I like the way you did the flaxen mane, not too white but just right. The left ear tip seems off but perhap it's just that the hair tipped that way. Keep posting. Tammy

Hi Enzie,

Nice job with all of your textures. I love the handling of the coarse mane, the hard leather bridle and the soft nose.

Hi Tammy,

I am glad you liked it. I took part in a fundraiser for the Fran Joswick Riding Center. The Nellie Gail Art Association, of which I am a member, hosted the event and since we had tons of landscape paintings, but very few horses I tried my hand for the first time at painting a horse. I did another one since, but it is very different in style.

Hi Mari!

Thank you for the compliments. It was a lot of fun to paint. This image seems to be a favorite of little girls. I did a paint out in the park, where I had this painting along with others for sale. It was really funny - I sold two very small miniature paintings of flowers that day and tons of postcards of this horse to little girls and boys, who came with money clenched in their tiny little hands. Needless to say most of them got a huge discount and ran off clasping this card with a huge smile on their face.

Dollar-wise this event was a flop, but morale-wise it was wonderful!
