Thank you Kim, Lisa and Jimmie! Especially for the good luck wishes. I'm going to take them and run with them. This State Fair competition is very stiff and I'll be so happy to just be juried in. The artist that won Best of Show last year was recently chosen to paint our former Governor's official portrait. It sure is something to shoot for!

I also appreciate all of you mentioning the composition of this piece. The stained glass background underwent many changes during the planning stages as well as the painting stages. Thank you so much Jimmie for saying that it doesn't detract from the subject. That was my goal and I'm especially glad you noticed it.
