Geri,

Try some Clove Oil. You can find it at places like health food stores, etc.

Mix a tiny amount into the piles of paint; your paint will stay wet for a long time. Even here in the desert, my paint has stayed wet for several days.

You'll either love the smell or hate it. I happen to love it.
