I am impressed with the high level of due diligence afforded my request for this item.
I received a call from a church with an Idea. What we thought would be a Funded Idea may now turn out to be an Unfunded Idea, which is of course much less attractive. But I have a stack of huge panels, lots of studio space, access to terrific models and a lot of energy. It's very tempting to attempt such grand schemes between portrait commissions.

Hi Linda.
My best idea is to contact a bird conservator. I think that it would be more easy to find a pair of swan wings than a pair from an angel.

Wings on e-bay available now
Linda,
You probably thought I was kidding about e-bay, but you can get almost anything on e-bay. I did a quick search for "feather wings", those would be the key words I would want in the wings that would fit your description, there is a pair at this site with 8 hours left to bid:

My search yielded quite a bit more, though some were smaller little statue things. There are actually a number of 'life-size' angel wings available right now.
Good luck!
Joan

Joan, you are a kind soul to think of me and do an ebay search, and I thank you. I am an obessive/compulsive old bat*, though, and I only like the $400 ones that I saw on other websites.
Allan, you've given me an idea about going to the zoo, and I thank you also.
*I had no idea there were so many bat wings out there, either.

Linda--
Vanity Fair did a photo spread of Courtney Love a number of years back with the most incredible pair of feathered full-size angel wings I've ever seen--truly a work of high craftsmanship. You might get to the photographer through the magazine, and the supplier through the photographer or photo-stylist--all of them would be listed with the article.
Best--TE
(Let me know what you find.)

Wings at party supply
Linda,
Check your local party and costume supply. Though they don't exactly look real, you would have a great reference as far as shape and how your shadows will fall on it. A store near me had many different sizes.
