Kim,

If you're referring to the same Mike character that my daughter knows, I can assure you that he has screwed up more of these sessions than you can possibly imagine.

The last three look like portraits to me. Technically, my favorite is the second one. I think this is a fine image. I like the background a lot and I like the pose and lighting very much. Although technically it works on many levels, I'm having a little trouble connecting all the theme dots.

I especially like the El Producto cigar box. My father loved to smoke an El Producto "favarita" while playing dominos or bridge. I wish I had been able to catch an image of him. We didn't have enough time, he was 48 when I was born!

The last two are definately intimate portrait types. I would think that they would be a risky venture trying to sell to a stranger, not that it couldn't happen. With your immense, and burgeoning talent, you could make a convincing painting from any of these. Although the first is a little dark.
