Kim,
This is lovely. I feel completely unqualified to comment on the mechanics of why and how it works so well (edges, backgrounds, etc.), but it really does. What grabs me most is the narrative sweep - it's like we are seeing just one frame of a complex story. Who else is there just outside the picture? What is Eve thinking? Is she going to laugh and put the apple down, or is she going to take a big spiteful bite? These are all things I want to know!

Kim -
This is just lovely. I feel I'm echoing other comments, but - it's true. It was worth all your work.....

Kim, I like the background you have chosen. It makes the painting rather intriguing. I have not followed the creation of this one, but I get a feeling of "Eve biting into the forbidden apple". Nice job!

Thank you folks - you all are very kind.
Janet - I loved your comments! I always hope that a narrative is suggested, and that viewers can kind of make up their own stories about what it is....with a little information from me.

What a finish
Kim, what a finish! I love the background and I didn't have to lose my mind watching you change it. This one ranks up there as one of my favorties of yours. Is there a fig leaf in your next one?
Again, love that background.

Kim,
It's a strong portrait with striking color. Her expression fascinates me, especially the position of her mouth. I agree with Linda about your "mythic metaphors." There's a sense of humor that comes through all your figurative work; such a refeshing change from the norm of serious metaphorical titles. Not that serious is bad, or that you are not serious at all, just that there is a playful undertone.

Thank you Lisa and Alexandra!
I'm glad you guys like the background, that one kind of decided itself for me.
Alex - I am hardly ever serious, so I am glad my paintings look a little playful. She does have an interesting mouth. Beautiful, but I want to say an underbite maybe. She can't close her mouth fully, so all the paintings I have done of her show the same thing. I like the little quirks - even if some might make her mouth perfect, I would rather keep it the way it really is on her.
