Thomasin,

I am always impressed by your way of manipulating the paint so as to make it do exactly what you want it to do. In the first image you have captured the splash and movement of the "water" (the upward movement of bubbles when an object plunges into water) without actually painting little bubbles and the blurring of the face and arm add to this effect. It is a very interesting piece.
In the second one, when you say "unstretched", was the canvas fixed in some way onto something or did you just have it loose?
Both are very insightful pieces.
