Hi Marina, I love the ideas you come up with! Placing the little one infront of something I equate with church architecture, does change the whole meaning for me. Now instead of just seeing a cute little girl, it feels like the painting has religious undertones. Cool!

Marina,

Hauntingly beautiful and simple! I love the way the gothic arches in the background echo the draped head. As always, the baby's soft skin and innocence is incredibly tactile and sweet. The way you have juxappoed the baby with these other elements is infinitely fascinating. Beautifully executed, too.

Mischa, you have said some complimentary things but it is important to avoid critique when commenting in the Unveilings Section. I know you will understand. Thanks.

Thank you Mischa, Enzie and Alex,
it's possible that this drawing is not completely finished, as I can't help reworking things, especially after the "official" photo is taken...Since I wont have time to work in the next weeks, I thought to post it in this stage. Anyway, at the end I adjust slightly some values, soften a bit some places, and the difference is sometimes almost invisible on photos...

I chose this pose because she made me think to a gothic sculture, and there was a feeling of contemplation that I liked a lot. In the begining, I was thinking to a simple black background, but then thought that is was a too easy solution so I tried to find something which could add another dimension...
