I have not done anything this traditional in awhile. Nice change of pace. Great family to work with - I only wish they had more children.

Kim,
After they see this painting, I bet they wish they had more children that you could paint. it may be traditional, but you really captured the essence of life in this young man. Beautiful!

Kim, all the better. If he's an only child his parents (if they are smart) must go to great effort to make sure he has an active social life. They'll probably show this off to all their friends (the other kids' parents) and everyone will want one. . .because it is so artistically arranged and beautifully painted! In your figurative work you've been honing your skills at the same time you have relentlessly pursued the expression of the essence and the power of your original concepts. And I really see the results of all your work in this portrait. It's a different mood and a different kind of subject, but you've portrayed a real human being, not just a cute kid.

I LOVE his ears. This is a beautiful painting, Kim.

And, Alex - I really admire your ability to critique so well. Remember, I officially agree with everything you say - so why don't you just put that in your signature line, okay?

Kimberly, Alexandra hit the nail on the head. What an impressive piece. Your paint handling is so confident, just superb. You just keep getting better and better.

Dear Kim,

What everyone has said! This is truly superb. He has living presence. I'll add, what a great hand! You are getting frighteningly better and better! Another new favorite!

I have to add my boring but sincere agreement with everything said thus far. A really, really great portrait. Janet

Kim, this is a terrific portrait -he's dressed up but not in the least bit stuffy, with such a lively attitude - I love it! Great technique, great pose. I really would like to see a closeup of that hand.

Thank you everyone - I really appreciate it.

Cindy - Im with you, I love everything Alex says- she is full of insight and inspiring words! Nice to see your face, by the way.

Linda, I will try and get a close up of that hand before I deliver it tonight.

I was concerned with the pose of that hand from the beginning - Im glad you like it Garth! (whew)

Kim - I'm sooo jealous. Lovely work! I like the way you handled the composition as well as the wonderful rendering of a very likeable looking young man.
