Hello,

This is my second post to the forum. I am a fairly new artist. I did my very first painting/portrait in Dec. 2001. I would appreciate it very much if anyone would just offer pointers to help me improve my work. I need all the help I can get. I am a determined want to be artist

Thanks so much!

Hi Connie,

If you have only been painting since December 2001, you have come a very, very long way in a short amount of time. IMO, the composition and your drawing skills on this piece are excellent. However, you'll probably want to start using reference photos without a flash source. I believe this will help take your work to another level.

Very nice!

Oops, I am sorry, I made a type error. I did my first portrait in Dec.2000, so it has not been that short of a period of time. And thanks for the advice.
