I have been meaning to comment on this for a while.

I love your use of lighting which helps create a more interesting compostion, especially the employment of the cast shadow as an important design element. I love this kind of lighting and I know how hard it is to to do effectively without making your subject look ghoulish. Very effective!

I've been catching up on all your paintings here and have been meaning to respond to at least one - the expectant mom is my favorite but this one and the lighting is great. I love your use of color and softness of all edges. Very different from the way I paint and that helps me learn. Thank you so much for sharing your work with us.
