Breathtaking Linda,
Could you please post more close-ups.
What a beautiful background!

Linda, another ambitious composition successfully completed! Actually the white shirts give a summery, silvery, idyllic feel to the scene. It would be nice to see more closeups if you can get them.

There is a really soft splendour to this artwork...i'm absolutely awed by the work of another fabulous artist here!
Question: how big are the head sizes? I often imagined a painting of seven people would require larger than 40"-ish sizes. Care to share your thoughts?

Thanks everybody - sorry it's taken me a couple of days to say that - I've been painting against a deadline (made it last night!).

Marcus - I prefer head sizes no smaller than 4-5 inches, but her house is not large and there was no place to hang anything larger than the size we picked. Since this is commissioned residential art, you just have to go with it sometimes. Even though the head sizes are small, I think a lot is each persons character is revealed in their body posture and dynamics within the group, so I don't think anything was lost in the size constraint.

Claude - I can try to post more this weekend.

Alexandra & Garth - thanks for the comments on the white tee shirts.

take care,
Linda

Wow, Linda. You're full speed ahead these days. So many blonde people! So many dogs (q.v. previous posts)!

This group is dressed for Wimbeldon with all those white shirts. Garth is right - your touch with the whites and placement of such is unifying. I really get that "early summer" feel from this painting; it's your fine handling of the light.

Keep rollin', Linda - you're in the zone!

Linda,
I have come back to look at this painting three different times. Your painterly, loose style just captivates me. Yea I am jealous. In my heart I want to paint that way, but my hands won't let me....yet. This composition and color key just pops. Great work.

Linda,
I am amazed at this. I am working on a commission right now that has three people and I am dying over here. You make it look so easy.

By the way, did you tresspass on my property? This looks EXACTLY like it was taken on the front (or back, whatever your opinion is of lake property) yard of our cottage. Makes me miss summer right now. (Winter in Wisconsin.... YUK!)

Anyway, this is beautiful. Congratulations.
