Thank you to all for such generous responses.
I like both sanguine and sepia for quick life sketches since I think the warmth they give to a drawing is especially appropriate for the human figure. And the white touches give it the relief I always seek in a drawing. I feel like I still have quite a bit to learn about mastering the use of the white chalk--maybe I should bribe Marina to teach me

Carlos, what a lovely way to relax. I especially like the placement of the head in the paper and the strenght of the empty spaces

Ilaria, thanks for your comment. Actually, your piece with the chef had something to do woth the placement of the head.
