Hi Judson,

it all started from a photo, but then I modified what needed to create the mood and to tell the story I wanted to tell. In this case, it was from life... and memory. I attached the ref photo that I used to start everything. I usually paint from photographs, but never just copy. They are simply references.

Ant, I just spotted this beautiful painting. Thanks for posting the close up of the left eye, which is especially sensitively painted. I'm really looking forward to seeing a lot of your work on the Forum and congratulations on your well-deserved award!

I am reforming my studio and that has been keeping me away from my easel for a couple of weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to resume some works during this next week.
