Joe and Megan
Hi again!
Joe and Megan is a dyptic each about 30" x 30". The water fight was a great brother-sister scene... who ever had the hose would pummel the other with water. Adorable yet a bit violent I decided, so to diffuse the pummeling-in-perpetuity element from the painting, I broke itno two scenes, each then being the center of attention in their own canvas. This way in 30 years they can each take their own portait - which is always nice to anticipate.
Hope you like it. Thanks for letting me share.
Linda

Hi Linda -
What a neat idea! So nontraditional and a breath of fresh air.....
(and water!)
Great colors, great drawing, fresh and non-stuffy - wonderful!

Thanks Julie,
I tried to paint them loose and unblended, to emphasize the youthfulness and casualness of the moment. I'm glad you like them!

Linda,
Great dyptich! I like the way you have played with the fence/hose angles, and with the egde of the grass. It creates an alternating patchwork, and keeps the eye of the viewer bouncing back and forth between the two paintings. It's a visual surprise and a very creative way to relate the subjects in the two paintings.

Linda,
what a great use of colours. These paintings are like a peacock's tail, they show off your palette marvellously and harmoniously.
Joyful works
