I really like both of these. The blocking in of patches of color shows the speed of the work, and is a great way to start any portrait.

Gorgeous! Extraordinary color! I can see how Ilaria's painting reminded you of yours, Allan. I like them both separately. The simply stated head and the simply stated rose bush are elegant. So often artists try to put too much together, i.e. a beautiful young girl with lush flowers in the background. These two show the strength of focusing on a single subject and finding beauty in it.
